Business Relations Committee
The SC Business Relations Representative is responsible for leading and managing a team to foster relationships of the ISCB-SC with industry and academia.
One of the main goals with be services in facilitating career development for members and provide opportunities for growth and networking.
Responsibilities:
- Canvass ISCB/ISCB-SC members for contacts within relevant industrial and academic institutions.
- Consult with existing business relations groups in the parent ISCB to form cohesive goals.
- Identify potential sponsors from industry/academia.
- Initiate ties with industry and academic institutions with interests in computational biology.
- Propose new events and help other ISCB-SC subcommittees organize events by providing access to established industry/academic contacts.
- Establish working relationships with other ISCB-SC subgroups to facilitate future activities (e.g. Outreach committee).
- Expand ISCB's jobs listing, focusing on entry-level jobs and internships most relevant to the SC members.
- Facilitate hosting lectures given by business leaders and prominent researchers from established industry/academic contacts.
- Draft protocols for SC fund raising.
