Business Relations Committee Initiatives

As it stands now, this site is a work in progress until I have ironed everything out for ISMB2005 in June of this year. This site will host demos of services mentioned to be undertaken by the BRC's Plan of Action. The genesis of which is ongoing and a more complete presentation to send amongst the SC. Projects

As it stands right now, these ideas are what the BRC should provide to the SC (click on names for pages):
  1. Project Pairing Program (PPP):
    2.  This is a fundamental goal of such a committee. Here we utilize the students' own technologies as well as the needs of the scientific community to really bolster a service that benefits all who participate. Ideally, this will serve to elaborate research projects as well as cater to grad student funding. In later versions, we would like to create a database for creating these matches.more

  2. Industrial Training Source:
    3.  This is a smaller service program that the BRC should sponsor. Here, we can report a listing of "short-courses" that our members are at the forefront of developing. Businesses who are interested in training their employees in the latest of technologies can take a course on relevant material. This can cause collaborations of many students. more

Tentative Deadline of Committee:

05/02/2005: Email sent to SC explaining BRC and bolstering support
05/06/2005: Preparation of Companies who are willing to participate in the PPP
05/13/2005: Teleconference to discuss outlook and plan of action for BRC (10min, given by VJW)
05/31/2005: Completion of 1st version of PPP database
06/20/2005: PPP submission form (1st draft completed)
