Call for proposals for second round of Regional Student Group funding

Its time for the second round of proposals for funding from Regional Student Groups (RSGs). We encourage you to apply if your RSG is looking to organize any small event or start an initiative. You will need to submit the following

  • A 1-2 page description of the event/initiative with motivation, benefits and plan for execution.
  • Detailed budget with justification of costs. An RSG can request for funds of up to $400 USD.

The proposals are due by December 15th. Also to let everyone get a fair chance, RSGs that were funded during the previous funding cycle, are not eligible to apply this cycle. RSG leaders interested in applying for funding should contact rsg@iscbsc.org.

Poster submission deadline for ESCS1 on Aug 16, 2010

The first European Student Council Symposium (ESCS1) will be held on September 26, 2010 in Ghent, Belgium, as a satellite meeting of the European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB).

You can register to the student symposium even if you do not attend ECCB. It only costs 100 euros, but will be 150 euros after the early registration deadline.

Call for Abstracts for the 1st European Student Council Symposium

Submit your abstract today to participate in ESCS1 on September 26th 2010 in Ghent in Belgium! The program includes a keynote given by Yves Van de Peer, oral and poster presentations from selected abstracts as well as a promising workshop on presentation skills.

Deadline extended for internship

The application deadline for the internship in the Rost lab located at the Technische Universität München campus in Munich has been extended till 31 July 2010. Only students from developing countries are eligible for this internship. We would like to thank Dr. Burkhard Rost for kindly offering this internship exclusively organized by Student Council.
