RSG-India is pleased to announce that the 18th annual IEEE
International Conference on High Performance Computing (HiPC 2011) will be held in Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, during *December 18-21, 2011.
HiPC is an international meeting on high performance computing which serves as a forum to present the current work by researchers from all over the world. The conference will host several core computing sessions such as
Workshop on Hybrid Computing and Keynote on Challenges in Computing. This year HiPC has leaped ahead in addressing the Computational challenges faced by Life Sciences Domain. The Conference will also discuss the same in a symposium on Next Generation Sequencing Techniques and associated infrastructure. The session involves participation from Industry experts, Academia and Researchers.
A tete- à-tete with industry experts will also help Job aspirants
know about the niche requirements of Life Science Industry and harness
the requisite skills.
As a part of our collaboration with the HiPC team, RSG-India members
are provided with an exclusive opportunity to avail a travel fellowship
to attend the conference. The fellowship can be used to claim Travel
expenses, accommodation and contribution towards the registration fee. . A

RSG-India will be representing the Indian Bioinformatics Student
community at The HiPC Venue via a Booth in the Industry Exhibits section.

Regional Student Groups of India and Singapore have decided to start a program of collaborations on student projects. The first project of this collaboration, a project on "Rational selection of drug targets based on the essential genes database" has been begun. People to work on this project were selected after a call for applications on the message board. The project is expected to be completed by December 2009
Regional Student Group - India was featured in the education supplement of 'The Hindu', a leading Newspaper. The article showcased RSG-India's work for the Bioinformatics student community in India and its efforts at promoting discussion and exchange of information within the student community.
