A Student Council-led meeting was organized from Thursday 24 July to Saturday 26 July, directly after ISMB 2008 at the Institute for Computational Biomedicine at Weill Cornell (ICB) in NYC. A total of 20 students were selected from a pool of applicants to attend the meeting. Travel fellowships including air fare and hotel was awarded to selected applicants.
The talks at the meeting were a combination of presentations given by faculty from the Weill College and the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, introducing the different aspects of their research. This event was designed for students to learn about a broad range of topics in Computational Biology, as well as the opportunities available at both New York based centers of excellence.
