Summary

  • To promote continuity and manage future growth of the Student Council, this year a significant effort will be made to more formally structure the organization of the Student Council.
  • It is our intention to increase the number of students and young scientists that we involve in our events and initiatives. For this purpose we will establish an Outreach Committee, which takes care of Student Council marketing and communication with the community and introduce the role of Volunteer Coordinator, who will oversee and implement new policies for volunteer recruitment.
  • We will make sure that ISMB 2010 has a strong Student Council presence, including:

    • The 6th Student Council Symposium, with more delegates, more travel fellowships and many great speakers.
    • Career Central, with CV critique sessions, recruitment seminars and a lively Student Council booth.
    • Promote Regional Student Group activities and interaction by organizing regular teleconferences and providing funding to Regional Student Groups to organize their own events and activities.
  • Expand Career Central with an education website, recruitment opportunities and continue with the Internship program.
  • Increase our budget by recruiting sponsors and running our Student Council Shop.

We are looking forward to an exciting year, in which the Student Council organizes many stimulating events, reaches more students and young researchers than ever, and makes a difference in the community!
