Education & Careers Committee
The Education & Careers committee will provide the SC members with resources for bioinformatics education in the form of links to quality online tutorials and other study materials/courses of interest. The committee hopes to further the career of its members by organizing job fairs to help its members secure job positions while approaching their graduation. This committee will also collaborate with organizations (e.g, BioSapiens network) and promote joint activities in future
Anticipated Tasks

Career Events: Workshops addressing career planning and counseling, job searching, or alternative careers.

Social Events:Opportunities to meet other students and researchers in our area of interest through online collaboration or through regional and international conferences.

Building Bridges: We hope to research the industry needs and map them to the skills available with the graduating classes and if necessary help in fine tuning the expected skill set of the graduating students. Provide information on industry expectations and provide feed back to the universities and trainers, in order to produce better equipped graduates in future.
Resources
- Web Search: Through links to promising internship programs, final year projects or prospective jobs.
- Contacts and Networking: Facilitate formation of a network among peers in workplace, friends, previous class mates etc. by facilitating these activities through our website.
- College Career Centers: In collaboration with college Career centers we hope to encourage the industry to help train students by providing industrial projects for final year students and encourage them to have summer training programs.
