    RSG-India is pleased to announce that the 18th annual IEEE
    International Conference on High Performance Computing (HiPC 2011) will be held in Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, during *December 18-21, 2011.

    HiPC is an international meeting on high performance computing which serves as a forum to present the current work by researchers from all over the world. The conference will host several core computing sessions such as
    Workshop on Hybrid Computing and Keynote on Challenges in Computing. This year HiPC has leaped ahead in addressing the Computational challenges faced by Life Sciences Domain. The Conference will also discuss the same in a symposium on Next Generation Sequencing Techniques and associated infrastructure. The session involves participation from Industry experts, Academia and Researchers.

    A tete- à-tete with industry experts will also help Job aspirants
    know about the niche requirements of Life Science Industry and harness
    the requisite skills.

    As a part of our collaboration with the HiPC team, RSG-India members
    are provided with an exclusive opportunity to avail a travel fellowship
    to attend the conference. The fellowship can be used to claim Travel
    expenses, accommodation and contribution towards the registration fee. . A
    detailed document is attached with this mail. Please refer the same for
    more details.

    RSG-India will be representing the Indian Bioinformatics Student
    community at The HiPC Venue via a Booth in the Industry Exhibits section.

    RSG-India successfully organized Perquisition, an exhaustive database search competition preceded by workshop, during Gravitas-an International Technology Festival held at VIT University on 13th of September ‘09. We received immense response for the workshop as well as for the event. In all, thirty teams participated from various Universities across India. The winners were awarded certificates of merit along with total cash prize of ten thousand INR.

    In recognition of our efforts for the Indian Bioinformatics student community, CSIR (The Council for Scientific and Industrial research) and the Organisers of the Human Genome Meeting (HGM 2008) at Hyderabad, graciously offered RSG-India representatives a stall at the exhibition area of this conference. This was a great opportunity for us to get to meet many RSG-India members face to face and also to introduce RSG-India to other interested students at the conference.

    Code-On, a bioinformatics based programming contest was organised by RSG-India in association with the Replikon '08 technical symposium at VIT University in February 2008. This event saw participation by more than 60 teams of two persons each. The victorious teams were awarded a one year student membership to ISCB by RSG-India.
