"The SC is a platform that provides space for everyone. As we undertake our new roles, my team and I hope to carry on the excellent efforts made by our Regional Student Groups (RSGs) and members across the globe to make the field of computational biology more inclusive and welcoming. We hope our work will help build connections between students and researchers working in the field of computational biology, across both academic and industrial sectors.” — Nazeefa
Nazeefa is based at Uppsala University where she contributes her time working for the Sweden’s National Genomics Infrastructure. She is an alumna of the Lunds Universitet where she studied for a master's in bioinformatics. Nazeefa’s research involves learning about various sequencing technologies through exploration of Swedish human genomes.”
Nazeefa joined the SC in 2015 as a member of the web committee. Since then, she has served as a member of the RSG-UK where she contributed her time as a web-content developer, and helped organize the 2nd and 3rd symposiums. In 2016, Nazeefa was elected as the vice chair of the Student Council - during her position, she helped organise the 12th Student Council Symposium (SCS), 13th SCS and, the 4th European Student Council Symposium. Since 2018, Nazeefa, along with a team of researchers, has been working towards the development of computational biology community across Sweden.
