Dear young researcher,

We would like to invite you to our second Company Visit of the Regional Student Group Netherlands. On September 16th, we will visit Genetwister, an innovative biotechnology company, which was founded in 1998. Initially their focus was marker discovery for diagnostics and tool development for genetic modification, but over the years this shifted and expanded towards high throughput marker discovery and practical application and development of both genomic breeding and green biotechnology tools. The accumulating information on biomarker, genetics and gene expression databases required the development of advanced software for data storage, data analysis and visualization. Therefore a bioinformatics group was established in 2004. For more information you can find in the attachments a short profile of Genetwister. During our visit we will learn more about the work that is done in this company with an emphasize on the role of Bioinformatics. We will close of our visits with drinks in a nearby pub and there will the possibility to join for dinner as well.

This visit provides the unique opportunity to get an inside look at this innovative biotechnology company!
