RSG Ohio

Regional Student Group Ohio

The Regional Student Group - Ohio (RSG-Ohio) provides a platform for interaction and furthering of Bioinformatics students throughout the state of Ohio. RSG-Ohio is a component of the Ohio Bioinformatics Consortium (OBC) an affiliate of the International Society for Computational Biology. This integration allows RSG-Ohio to utilize resources of the OBC as well as the ISCB-SC. By providing a means of communication among students it will be possible to connect the students and build research interactions lasting beyond the college career.

The RSG-Ohio is organized in the same fashion as the OBC, by having subcommittees responsible for “K through 12 Outreach”, the “OCCBIO Conference”, “Education and Curriculum”, “Research and Infrastructure”, “Internship and Research Experience”, “Scholarships” and “Membership”.

Each RSG-Ohio subcommittee is represented through an officer of RSG-Ohio. Each subcommittee has a representative from the 5 regions of Ohio as supporters and each officer manages the subcommittee in coordination with the OBC coordinator for the respective committee. Each OBC subcommittee has 1 representative from the RSG-Ohio working as a liaison between the OBC subcommittee and the RSG-Ohio.
