Introduction

The ISCB‐SC had sought the establishment of a pilot Regional Student Group (RSG) in Singapore in cooperation with AMBIS, The Association for Medical and Bioinformatics – Singapore, with the blessings of ISCB in 2007. Today, this partnership created a forum for the dissemination, exchange and analysis of
information through education and participation of RSG members, which are the main goals of AMBIS and RSG‐Singapore, and have provided synergy for the Biotechnology and Bioinformatics students of Singapore.

Our aims are as follows

1. Serve the needs of student researchers in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics fields.
2. Provide an international network of excellence for young researchers.
3. Offer resources and events geared to the scientific advancement of the next generation.
4. Facilitate the development of the next generation of computational biologists.
5. Offer benefits that are specific to local regions.
6. Ultimate goal is to bring together the scientific communities and enable them to work together for mutual advancement.
